FUTURE CHAMPIONS OPEN HISTORIC MATCH
COLLEGE PARK, MD – Two local student-athletes have been selected to play as the undercard for the Roger
Federer vs. Pete Sampras match on March 10th at Madison Square Garden. The two young athletes, Denis
Kudla and Junior Ore are both rising stars at the Junior Tennis Champions Center, a not-for-profit tennis and
mentoring program located in College Park, Maryland. The Junior Tennis Champions Center focuses on tennis
excellence and its mentoring component emphasizes character development and academic excellence.
Through the vision of Kenneth Brody, the founder of the Champions Center, the program has graduated over
40 students who have earned full athletic scholarships to top universities in the United States.
Kudla and Ore, both age 15 years old, have been deemed by many to be the future of American tennis. Kudla,
currently ranked #80 in the world (ITF Junior Rankings) and Ore currently ranked #170 are both a product of
the Champions Center’s intensive tennis training. Beginning at the age of eight, they have trained in a
concentrated environment under their coach/mentor Frank Salazar. Now at fifteen years of age, they have an
opportunity to showcase their talents on one of the most prestigious stages in American sports.
The main event on March 10th will be the 4th meeting between two of the greatest tennis players in the history
of the game. With Federer chasing Sampras’ career grand slam record, the match-up between these tennis
champions is a tennis enthusiasts dream to watch. However with American tennis struggling as of late, many
eyes will be on Kudla and Ore to see if they have what it takes to become headliners.
